The Committee of the Hearing Association (Auckland) Inc is the sole authority for the compilation of the organisation’s privacy policy.

Hearing Association (Auckland) Inc is bound by the Privacy Act 1993, as well as other laws, which impose specific obligations when it comes to handling information.

Making information available to other service providers

a. Can only release personal information about a person with that person’s expressed permission
b. For personal information to be released, the person concerned must sign a release form
c. Can release information to third parties where it is requested by the person concerned

a. Information will not be collected by unlawful, unfair means or intrude to an unreasonable extent upon the personal affairs of the individual concerned.

Responsibility

The organisation’s Committee is responsible for adopting this policy. The organisation’s Secretary/Manager and all staff members, contractors and volunteers are responsible for the implementation of this policy. The organisation’s Secretary/Manager is responsible for monitoring changes in Privacy legislation and for reviewing this policy as and when the need arises.
